Oh, what’s in a name…Let’s find out

What’s in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.

This famously quoted line is from Romeo & Juliet by a little known playwright named William Shakespeare. Maybe you’ve heard of him. I wonder if Bill might have been on to something. The Bible even talks about names. In Proverbs 22:1 it is written: A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Since this is National Celebrate Your Name Week, I decided to seek out the meaning of my name.  Does my name truly reflect who I am? Do I live up to my name?

FoT-EM-Keetra-10-Intro-1250x731I started my quest at University of Google.  I typed in ‘what does my name mean’. I found some very interesting sites. Names.org allowed me to enter my name and find the meaning. The result?  Not only did it give me the meaning, I received all sorts of facts as well. Did you know from 1880 to 2014, the Social Security Administration has recorded 11 babies born with the name Keetra in the United States. The name was first given to 5 or more babies in the year 1976 when it was given to 5 new born babies. The highest recorded use of the name “Keetra” was in 1980 with a total of 6 babies. {one of those 1976 babies was ME!!! Wait until I tell my momma}

Ok, so the meaning of Keetra contrary to popular belief {which I started, of course} is not Diva.

What does the name “Keetra” mean?

K is for kindle, the warmth in others.

E is for exotic, no lack of spirit here!keetra name

E is for easy going, no ruffles here.

A is for admirable, you certainly are!

They totally nailed it!! To bad being modest wasn’t in there. Ha. I’m totally going to celebrate my name today, this week and every day. Hmm, where is that airbrushed shirt with my name on it? Yes honey, with some cute skinny jeans. The diva is back.

I even googled just my name, all the Keetra’s are doing amazing things. Who knew? I might just connect with them. That will be an awesome blog post. So yes, I will reach out to them all.
